JOB ANNOUNCEMENT

HEADA is a Cameroonian-based non-for-profit organization whose mission is to support global health and development programs.

Within the framework of its program in Cameroon, HEADA is currently seeking to recruit two (02) suitable candidates for full-time positions as Global Health Protection Officers.

The staff will be based in Yaounde and providing support to the Global Health Security Agenda currently being implemented by the organization in Cameroon.

These two (02) positions are for a fixed duration of 12 months each.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (Behaviors):

o   Must be able to work within a multidisciplinary public health team, interact effectively with people of all social, cultural, and educational backgrounds.

o   Excellent written communication skills.

o   Comfort with use of spreadsheets and data collection, organization, and analysis.

o   Familiarity with public health concepts and foundational frameworks including outbreak response, or emergency preparedness and response.

o   Ability to combine pieces of information to form conclusions.

o   Ability to understand, interpret, and communicate data from a variety of sources on a variety of public health related topics.

o   Demonstrate ability to work with local government, local and international organizations.

o   Ability to identify problems and utilize evidence-based practices to develop and implement solutions.

o   Demonstrated ability to protect confidential health information.

o   Ability to assertively solve problems and clearly state expectations.

o   Perform any other tasks assigned to him/her by HEADA or his sponsor.

Minimum Qualifications (Education and Experience):

o   Master’s degree in public health, Epidemiology or any other related degree.

o   Have at least 5 years of experience in the field of public health.

o   Fluent in English and French.
