Position: CLEANER/COOK (Maternity Cover)

Location: Buea, with travels to South West, North West and Littoral regions as needed during field activities.
Contract type: Fixed Term contract
Contract Duration: 4 months
Start date: 2nd January 2024
Overall purpose of the role
Ensure that the office, the guest house and other work areas are clean, cook dinner for DRC staff and guests.
Responsibilities:
· Sweep the floors and stairs (taking care not to damage electrical equipment on the floor such as UPS, electrical wire, etc)
· Wash the floors, stairs, and other areas thoroughly at least twice a week.
· Dust the desks, walls and cupboards (taking care not to damage office equipment on the dusted area);
· Clean the office sinks, toilets, and wash rooms.
· Clear and dispose of the rubbish from the office.
· Keep the kitchen clean at all times, including cleaning the inside of the fridge.
· Inform the line manager of any repairs or replacements required of maintenance equipment;
· Clean the guest house / living areas of the office (washing floors, sweeping, clean kitchen, bathroom, etc) as requested.
· Monthly planning of procurement of all cleaning items to be submitted to the line manager
(e.g cleaning fluid, garbage bags, soap, toilet paper, etc)
· Propose a weekly meal plan for guest house residents.
· Purchase of food, beverages, other small items for the Office/Guesthouse at the market.
· Cook food for guesthouse residents.
· Make tea or coffee for official meetings/occasions.
· May be requested to maintain the garden areas around in the office.
The responsibilities listed above are not exhaustive and may be readjusted according to
operational needs but will remain in line with the overall purpose of the role.
Required Experience and technical competencies:
· Relevant experience in a similar position.

Education: Secondary school or above
Languages:
· Basic English proficiency.
· Fluency in local language
Knowledge of context: Minimum 10 years working / studying / living in South West or
