Job Title: Marketing and Social Media Manager - Wambi
Job Description:
We are looking for a dynamic and creative Marketing and Social Media Manager to join our team at Wambi in Douala. In this
role, you will work parttime (20 hours/week) and be responsible for managing our social media presence, engaging with
potential shop owners, and handling aspects of marketing for our platform during this crucial early stage. Your goal will be to
increase our brand visibility, attract new sellers to our platform, and foster a strong and engaged online community.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Social media Management:
• Develop and implement a comprehensive social media strategy across various platforms (Facebook, Instagram,
Twitter, LinkedIn, etc.) to increase our online presence and brand awareness.
• Create, curate, and manage all published content (images, video, written) on social media platforms.
• Monitor, listen, and respond to users in a “Social” way while cultivating leads and sales.
2. Engagement with shop owners:
• Actively reach out to potential shop owners, explaining the benefits of creating an online shop on the Wambi
platform.
• Provide demonstrations or presentations as needed to convince shop owners to create profiles in the app.
• Work closely with shop owners to ensure their successful onboarding and continued engagement with the
platform.
3. Marketing and Promotion:
• Develop and implement innovative marketing strategies to attract new sellers to the platform.
• Coordinate with content creators and influencers for promotional activities.
• Organize and participate in events to build community and boost brand awareness.
4. Content Creation and management:
• Develop engaging, creative, innovative content for regularly scheduled posts, which enlighten audiences and
promote brand-focused messages.
• Analyze key metrics and tweak strategies as needed.
5. Community Engagement:
• Build and manage the company’s social media profile and presence.
• Foster a sense of community around Wambi by engaging with potential sellers and influencers within the digital
community.
6. Perform other duties as assigned by the management team.
Skills and Qualifications
- Higher National Diploma (or equivalence) at minimum
- Proven working experience in social media marketing or as a digital media specialist.
- Ability to communicate information professionally on formal platforms like LinkedIn
- Excellent writing, editing (photo/video/text), presentation, and communication skills.
- Demonstrable social networking experience and knowledge of social analytics tools.
- Knowledge of online marketing and a good understanding of major marketing channels.
- Positive attitude, detailed, and customer-oriented with good multitasking and organizational ability.
- Proficient with Google workspace and based in Douala, Cameroon
