SOWAPDEV COOPERATIVE is looking for smart and dynamic young people to volunteer in the following categories Accountant & Storekeeper

Volunteer Profile:

  • At most a BSc in Accounting, Finance, Marketing, Management, Veterinary or related fields
  • Pleasing personality and excellent interpersonal skill.
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Must be capable of working under pressure.
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Fresher’s can apply but experienced candidates are most preferable.
  • Local travel is required.

A typical day for volunteers 

  • A typical work week is Monday – Friday, working every day from 8 a.m. until 5 Pm with half hour break.
  • On Saturdays, work begins at 8 a.m. until 12 noon.

A typical day starts around 8 am, at the office with the rest of the team. After that, depending on your own work schedule and the schedule of your colleagues, you might work from the office, go on the field or have some external meetings; this is up to you and the defined tasks. 

Types of Volunteers 

Two different types of volunteers are distinguished: short-term volunteers and long-term volunteers. Both types affect volunteers from 22 and 40 years old. 

  • SHORT-TERM VOLUNTEERS  Contribute for a minimum of 3 months and a maximum of 6 months. Unless there is a convincing reason to extend the length 
  • LONG-TERM VOLUNTEERS Contribute for a minimum of 7 months and a maximum of 12 months renewable once. 

The Action aims to support young job-seekers to gain work experience and possible employment.  Graduates from National Veterinary and Animal Science Training Centre of Jakiri are encouraged to apply.

Accountant Duties 

  • Prepares asset, liability, and capital account entries by compiling and analyzing account information. 
  • Summarizes current financial status by collecting information. 
  • Preparing balance sheet, profit and loss statement, and other reports. 
  • Substantiates financial transactions by auditing documents. 
  • Keep accounts of every client. 
  • Handle customer’s payment and balancing accounts
  • Paying invoices
  • Bank reconciliation and payroll
  • Contact customers on past-due accounts    

Storekeeper Duties   

  • Checking inventory. 
  • Handling purchases and returns
  • Keeping records and maintaining the image of a company.  
  • Make sure owners, vendors and customers are satisfied. 
  • Compile reports on various aspects of changes in production or inventory.
  • Keep records of items soled and received. 
  • Assisting with the organisation of the store. 
  • Maintaining the outside yard and stores in a clean and tidy condition. 
  • Assisting in placing purchase orders on the instruction of the Manager or in his absence.
