As part of the reinforcement of its working capacities, PECTEN EMPLOYEES COOPERATIVE CREDIT UNION (PECCU – BOD) is recruiting a CASHIER.

Number of staff: 01
Place of work: Douala

Missions:
Placed under the responsibility of the Accountant, the main missions of the cashier is receiving payments and issuing receipts, keep track of all cash and credit transactions.

Main Responsibilities:  
1.    Collect all cash receipts documents, confirm conformity for all money received, and immediately enters in the members’ passbook as well in the accounting system.
2.     Collect payment vouchers (PV) for all money paid out and immediately posts into the members’ passbook as well in the accounting system.
3.    Totalized the cashbooks at the end of each day and reconciles physical cash with cashbook balance.
4.    Maintains regular up to date of the cash ie the daily cash control records and the cash control passbooks.
5.    Ensures the neat and safe custody of used CRs and PVs as well as cashbooks, duplicate of cash receipts, payment vouchers, and back up of journal entries.
6.    Ensures the proper calculation of loan interests.
7.    Keeps custody of banks and other third parties passbooks as delegated by the Manager.
8.    Pays loans as approved by the General Manager, Credit Committees & Board that are in accordance with the Loan Policy.
9.    Pays all other expenses as approved by the General Manager and which are in accordance with laid down policy.
10.    Carries all other duties as directed by the Accountant and General Manager and which falls within the general policy of the Head office.

Required skills & qualifications:
•    Thorough attention to detail;
•    Patience and the ability to remain calm under stress;
•    High level of integrity;
•    Strong main and logic skills;
•    Understanding of software : Alpha , Excel and word ;
•    Administrative and organisational skills;
•    Customer service;
•    Excellent verbal communication skills;

Education:
Minimum BAC+2 in Accounting, Banking and Finance, or other related disciplines;
English–French bilingualism would be an asset.
2-3 year’s minimum in the past similar role;
