Job Title: Operations Manager

Location: Yaoundé, Cameroon

Company Overview: Cameroon Mining Company (CMC) is a leading player in the mining industry in Cameroon. With a focus on iron ore mining, CMC plays a pivotal role in the development of Cameroon's mining sector and will contribute significantly to the country's economic growth.

Key Responsibilities:

●        Develop and implement strategic plans to optimize iron mining operations, in alignment with company goals and objectives.

●        Lead and manage a team of mining professionals, including supervisors, engineers, and technicians, to ensure smooth and effective operations.

●        Ensure compliance with safety regulations and procedures, and promote a culture of safety awareness among all employees.

●        Allocate resources efficiently, including equipment, personnel, and budget, to meet production targets and operational requirements.

●        Oversee quality control processes to maintain high standards of ore extraction, processing, and shipment.

●        Coordinate maintenance activities for mining equipment and infrastructure to minimize downtime and ensure optimal performance.

●        Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and implement sustainable practices to minimize the environmental impact of mining operations.

●        Prepare regular reports on operational performance, analyze key metrics, and identify areas for improvement.

●        Foster positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including regulatory agencies and local communities.

Qualifications:

●        Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering, Geology, or a related field.

●        Minimum of 10 years of experience in iron mining operations, with a proven track record of success in a leadership role.

●        Fluent in English, with excellent communication skills. French fluency preferred.

●        Strong technical knowledge of iron mining processes, equipment, and technology.

●        Proficiency in safety regulations and procedures related to mining operations.

●        Excellent leadership abilities, with a demonstrated ability to motivate and inspire teams.

●        Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions under pressure.

●        Detail-oriented with a focus on quality and continuous improvement.

●        Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders and build positive relationships.
