About Helen Keller Intl
Helen Keller Intl is an international non-profit non-governmental organization. Present in Cameroon since 1992, Helen Keller International began its activities with the fight against river blindness in the health District (HD) of Monatélé, Centre region. Gradually, interventions have diversified and extended to other parts of the country. Over the years, the mission of Helen Keller International in Cameroon has centered around two main programs: the fight against Neglected Tropical Diseases (NTDs) and the fight against malnutrition through diverse interventions which have a nationwide coverage and are part of the Cameroon government’s health priorities. Currently, Helen Keller is implementing projects on NTDs, Nutrition, Eye Care and Local Governance of Health Promotion.
Helen Keller Intl Cameroon is seeking a communication intern who would work under the direct supervision of the Communication Officer and the Country Director in developing Communications content on Vitamin A Supplementation project activities. The intern will be expected to deliver the tasks outlined below:

Duty station: Yaoundé, Cameroun
Reports to: Communication Officer
Duration: 03 months
Description of specific tasks:
The following is required from the intern in the execution of this assignment:
✓Video editing
•Assist in editing videos
✓Media monitoring of print and electronic media
•Assist in preparing field media coverage
•Assist in the conception of a Communication Plan
•Assist in the social media dissemination of information related to our programs
✓Meetings
•Taking minutes at project activity meetings except otherwise stated
•Engage in Comms meeting with Comms Officer for weekly report detailing all deliverables
Documentation
•Document minutes and media reports (print and audio visual) placement of documents for easy access
•Assist in conceiving human interest stories
•Social Media
•Taking good quality pictures of meetings and program activities for social media posts
•Assist with developing social media posts for Facebook and Twitter for all Helen Keller related issues/Project activities
•Content generation
•Assist in designing posters for the programs, including videos.
•Assist in conceiving videos summarizing activities implemented.
QUALIFICATIONS
•A first university degree or related diploma, preferably in Communication, Public Relations, International Relations, Marketing, infographics, telecommunication or similar field
•Fluency and proven native-level writing skills in English and French is highly important
•Good research and analytical skills, including strong ability to analyze, integrate and summarize information from a wide range of sources
•Good photography skills
•Good computer skills, including familiarity with search engines, MS pack, Photoshop, In-Design, Inshot and Canva;
•Ability to work independently and to ensure high-quality deliverables;
•Demonstrated capacity to carry out the assignment within allocated timeframe.
