Job Summary

The Driver will undertake driving and field assignments and ensure proper maintenance of the vehicle assigned together with the other facilities and equipment in and out the landscape according to working plan.

The position reports to the Finance and Administrative Officer, Dja Landscape. It will be based at Djoum, Cameroon.

Responsibilities

    Provide driving services to the project staff/partners around and out of south sector of Dja Faunal Reserve.
    Conduct routine maintenance work (replacing fluids, lubricating parts etc.) aiming to vehicle functionality and longevity.
    Synchronize/execute errands versus team’s routines.
    Maintain the assigned vehicle monthly and to ensure the monthly check-up of the Djoum sector vehicle.
    Ensure that the vehicle is always clean and in good working condition and has enough fuel for the next activity.
    Ensure the assigned vehicle is serviced on schedule and its insurance and any licenses or taxes are valid.
    Provide administrative support services, including photocopying and binding, filing, archiving and delivery of mail in the office, as requested from time to time.
    Maintain the vehicle has log sheets and ensure they are submitted got accounting in time.
    Ensure regular checks of the vehicles status and condition and report any problems to the supervisor.

Requirements and skills

    At least 5 years’ experience as Driver in difficult field conditions.
    Ordinary level certificate or any other equivalent degree.
    College diploma or vocational school diploma in automotive technology or auto mechanics or auto engine servicing is an advantage.
    Driving License with categories B.
    Working knowledge of vehicle diagnostic systems and methods is an advantage.
    Demonstrable experience to observe all safety precautions for protection against accidents, dangerous fluids, chemicals, etc.
    Fluent French. Acceptable level in English is an asset
