Job Description
Governance

Adhoc and Operational Meeting

Set up / participate in adhoc and operational meetings 
Report at process and functional level
Escalations

Manage and resolve escalations that have impact on critical path of service delivery
Escalate issues that will result in significant time, scope, employee / client or cost impact if not resolved
Manage and provide solutions to issues that require formal resolution
Opco Operational

Set up and manage project status meetings
Review and identify key risks, issues and dependencies and set mitigation actions
Manage budgets
Sign-off / make decisions regarding operational changes
Performance 

Provide input to the performance review of CoE against agreed KPIs and their compliance to SLAs and reverse SLAs
Create and monitor plan for continuous improvement
Reporting

Provide input into the review of reports on a monthly basis from the CoE relating to progress made within the sub-division and in accordance with the measurement metrics set by the organisation
Review reports on specific projects as per the defined timelines as and when necessary
Responsibilities
OPERATIONAL DELIVERY

Assess and consolidate all TX Planning CAPEX projects and submit to Network Group Finance for budget process preparation
Participate in supplier selection for the delivery of requisite Transmission solution
Plan and manage Transmission budget
Provide directive / guidance for design of an optimized Transmission Network nodes and elements 
Follow up Transmission project execution with the team to ensure project capitalization is done as planned
Assign technical lead for a Transmission Network projects
Assign the right Transmission resource for any raised issue or request from internal customers that need Transmission team involvement
Follow up with suppliers any gap that is being raised during Transmission project execution
Prepare Scope and Swap plans for planned activities
Follow up to ensure permanent compliance of Business Continuity Process and Disaster Recovery Plan recommendations 
Explore vendors enhanced products and features roadmaps as a proactive preparation of design architecture reviews 
Bring support to any requirements coming from regulation or any unplanned revenue increase initiative from the business 
Prepare PDP of Transmission unit and share with Human resource team
Elaborate Transmission Network Planning team IPF
Evaluation performance of Transmission Network Planning team members
Approved change related to Transmission Network
Ensure the providing of all needed documents for Transmission related projects to CPG for project planning process (CPB, WBS, etc.)
Coordinate the elaboration of Transmission Network Planning INP
Coordinate the elaboration of SLAs with internal customers
Provide monthly financial, PDP, and project report to the management
Define job profiles and job descriptions of Transmission Network Planning team members
Perform needed action for staff recruitment within Transmission Network Planning unit
Ensure the providing of monthly KPI report for the unit
Provide key quarterly achievement and quarterly plan of the unit to the management
Validation of process and procedure governing Transmission Network activities
Validation of Transmission Network Policies 
Participate on training courses as booked or as recommended by HR
Qualifications


B.Sc. in Electrical/ Electronic or Telecommunications Engineering.
Master’s degree is a plus.
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in designing and implementing TX projects, with experience in supervising/managing others.
Experience working in a medium to large organization.
Experience with third party Transmission solutions providers
 

TX Networks Planning and Design
Capacity and Dimensioning for TX NETWORKS
Microwave Link Design
Microwave Networks Planning and Operation
Fiber Optic Networks Design and Operations 
Architecture engineering
Digital services and ICT solutions as a plus
TOGAF 9 Level 1&2, ITIL V3 Foundation, or equivalent would be advantageous
KNOWLEDGE

Strong knowledge of network architecture for telecom industry
Strong knowledge of Transmission Planning (Microwave and Fiber) 
Good understanding of radio (2G/3G/4G/5G) network planning & optimization techniques and constraints
Understanding of wider trends in the international and local telecoms industry.
Be computer and internet literate.
Understand principles of software & database development.
Good understanding of the principles of IP basics (addressing, routing VLANs, VPN, etc.) 
Map reading skills.
Advanced working understanding of the information technology environment of a telecom company
