1. Background
Meeting Targets and Maintaining Epidemic Control (EpiC) is a global project funded by the U.S.
President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) and the U.S. Department of State (DOS).
The project provides strategic technical assistance and direct service delivery to achieve HIV
epidemic control among at-risk populations, while strengthening global health security, expanding
tuberculosis detection and treatment, improving maternal and child health, addressing malaria, and
promoting health systems strengthening.
In Cameroon, the EpiC project supports the continuation and expansion of life-saving HIV
prevention, treatment, care, and support services. The program prioritizes community-led approaches
integrated with facility-based systems to increase access to quality HIV-related services and close
gaps in HIV case finding (first 95), while maintaining progress toward the second and third 95 of the
UNAIDS targets.

FAWOI will implement the FHI360-led EpiC Cameroon project in the Southwest Region, covering
the health districts of Muyuka, Kumba North, Mamfe, Tombel, and Bangem.
2. Position Summary
Family World International (FAWOI) is seeking qualified and detail-oriented Monitoring &
Evaluation (M&E) Assistants to support the implementation of M&E activities under the EpiC
Cameroon project within assigned districts.
The M&E Assistant will report to the Monitoring & Evaluation Officer and provide hands-on support
to frontline service providers to ensure accurate data collection, validation, analysis, and use in
compliance with national standards and donor requirements.
3. Key Responsibilities
The Monitoring & Evaluation Assistant will be responsible for the following:
• Provide direct technical support to HTS Providers to ensure availability, correct use, and
completeness of project source documents and tools.
• Conduct routine data quality checks for all program indicators and collaborate with project
staff to resolve identified issues.
• Perform weekly and monthly data validation and triangulation across paper-based and
electronic data systems.
• Analyze and present summary project data for all indicators, identifying programmatic gaps
for evidence-informed action.
• Conduct monthly RDQA activities for key indicators across supported districts and service
delivery points and ensure follow-up on recommendations.
• Conduct bi-weekly site visits to assess the availability and correct use of EpiC primary source
documents and provide mentorship to service providers.
• Validate referral (handshake model) data monthly with clinical implementing partners at
health facility level.
• Represent the EpiC project in district coordination meetings, workshops, and other relevant
activities.
• Participate in data review and coordination meetings with clinical partners at health facilities.
• Ensure all M&E activities comply with national standards, donor requirements, and ethical
guidelines.
• Maintain strict confidentiality with beneficiaries, stakeholders, and colleagues.
• Perform any other related duties necessary to achieve the overall goals of the EpiC project.
4. Required Qualifications, Skills, and Experience
Education
• Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Public Health, Epidemiology, or a related field.
Experience
• Minimum of two (2) years of professional experience in Monitoring and Evaluation,
preferably within health or HIV programs.
Skills and Competencies
• Proficiency in Excel, DHIS2, Kobo, ODK, or similar data collection and analysis platforms.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work across multiple service delivery points.
• Ability to travel regularly within the assigned region.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Fluency in the preferred community language is required.
• Cultural sensitivity and strong understanding of the sociopolitical context of the operating
environment.
