ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Tax Strategy and Tax Risk Assessment
– Minimize tax costs through tax avoidance and achieve huge tax savings for the Bank by devising and implementing tax management strategies Group-wide
– Develop and implement transformational initiatives to improve the Bank’s tax process and reduce overall tax costs Groupwide
– Ensure Groupwide compliance with extant tax laws and recommend measures to close gaps
– Devise measures to avoid undue tax exposure due to policies from government and regulatory bodies
– Revise tax operations process and innovate measures that will ensure better compliance and reduce man-hour involvement
– Drive tax incentive policies and eliminate ambiguity within local tax laws through engagement with consultants and tax authorities Groupwide
Transfer Pricing
– Develop an effective Transfer Pricing process to ensure effective and timely cost allocation Groupwide
– Ensure Group-wide compliance with International best practices on transfer pricing
– Revise transfer pricing agreements to ensure that the clauses do not pose any adverse effect for members of the group
– Review monthly transfer pricing computations and invoices to eliminate cost allocation errors
– Ensure timely rendition of required Transfer pricing returns Groupwide
Insurance Operations & Management
– Reduce the Bank’s insurance cost by reviewing and updating the Bank’s Insurance Policies and practices
– Develop and implement transformational initiatives to improve the Bank’s insurance process and reduce overall insurance costs
– Ensure effective insurance cover for all the Bank’s assets and insurable risks
– Ensure compliance with all regulatory-mandated insurance requirements
– Achieve effective and prompt claims for all insured loss incidents
– Achieve timely reconciliation/proofing of insurance GLs including reconciliation of sinking fund records with statements from the fund manager
KPIs:
– Development and implementation of minimum 3 transformational initiatives to reduce the Bank’s Tax
– Development and implementation of minimum 3 transformational initiatives to reduce the Bank’s Insurance Cost
– Achieve an effective tax rate for the Bank not exceeding the budgeted maximum
– Achieve insurance cost for the Bank not exceeding the budgeted maximum
– Zero Tolerance for Tax Compliance breaches
Qualification required:
First degree in Finance, Taxes, accounting, Economics,
Additional professional qualification – ACA, ACCA
Experience required:
Minimum requisite experience – 8 years’ relevant experience
