Main objective
and tasks
• Oversee drug and medical equipment orders and shipments to ensure rational use.
• Receive orders and deliveries, identify and report potential discrepancies with freight
manifestos or others, and stores materials in accordance with the current system to ensure
continuous availability.
• Ensure proper storage conditions for all medical items in the pharmacy in accordance with
pharmaceutical standards to ensure continuous availability.
• Ensure correct completion of entries on stock cards and software.
• Conduct or participate in regular inventory counts.
• Track stock levels with respect to critical thresholds, stock-outs, expiration dates, and drugs
due to expire within 6 months.
• Prepares orders for the various consumption units (departments, mobile clinics, others),
ensures proper packaging and shipping, and reports any anomalies or changes in consumption
patterns to the supervisor. Informs supervisor when inventory reaches warning limit
• Monitor warehouse facilities to ensure that materials are kept in proper storage conditions
• Ensure the cleanliness of the premises (pharmacy stock) and in close collaboration with the
logistics department, maintain the refrigeration equipment.
• Control access to the warehouse to authorized personnel only and ensure that doors and other
exits are secured.
• Immediately notify supervisor of any problems that arise in the course of work, including
damage, loss, attempted break-ins or theft from the warehouse.
• Ensure that items to be quarantined (ongoing quality alerts) or placed in quarantine (batch
recalls, expired or damaged items) are removed from stock and securely locked.
• Track inventory levels with respect to alarm thresholds, stock-outs, expiration dates, and
drugs expiring within 6 months.
• Prepare reports and forward to supervisor.
Educational and
professional
experience
required
• University degree Pharmacy or related field.
• Minimum 2 years relevant professional experience in a similar position
• Previous experience in an NGO is desirable
