UNICEF has been working in Cameroon since 1975 to allow women and children to fully realize their rights to development without restriction, as enshrined in the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child. UNICEF provides financial and technical support to Cameroon across seven areas to fully realize the rights of women and children. These areas include Health, HIV/AIDS, Water-sanitation-Hygiene, nutrition, education, child protection, and social inclusion. UNICEF focuses mainly on children and the most vulnerable and excluded families. Cameroon’s 2020 population is estimated at 26,545,863 people according to UN data. The population is young and generates strong socioeconomic demand. In rural areas, limited access to basic social services and the effects of climate change led to household impoverishment and severe child deprivations. The task is immense but not insurmountable; it requires the energy of all stakeholders in Cameroon and out of Cameroon: also, women, men, youth and children, government, technical and financial partners, donors, civil society, the private sector, parliamentarians, communities. Everyone is invited to take part in the struggle to meet the challenges that lie ahead. It is together that we will act for Cameroon, a country that summarizes the challenges and hopes of Africa.

How can you make a difference?
Under the supervision and guidance of the supervisor, the Administrative Associate is responsible for providing a broad variety of procedural and specialized administrative functions, that is, in compliance with UNICEF administrative rules and regulations, whilst demonstrating the capacity to research, adapt and evaluate irregular cases, and also to recommend improvements to process delivery and design.
- Monitors common premises budgets and financial expenditures of the unit, ensuring compliance with UNICEF rules and regulations, keeping supervisor informed and advised on actions for decision/follow up.
- Monitor the payment of administrative invoices and closure of administration unit contracts
- Follow up closely with the service providers to submit the invoices in a timely manner and conduct regular reconciliations of invoices.
- Ensure matters relating to field office premises, utilities and services with vendors and agencies, transport services, vehicle use and maintenance, equipment, management of drivers including the movements. Prepares assets (tangible and intangible) reports, ensures due records in the system. ·
- Advises supervisor and processes disposal cases in mAsset and VISION and ensures the PSB decisions implementation timely and accurately.
- Ensure that services and maintenance of premises are in accordance with organizational standards.
- Closely monitor contracts and advise the supervisor on their extension, renewal and support on drafting the ToRs.
- Provides travel assistance to staff members in section for travel arrangements and entitlements based on the organization’s rules and policies.
- Liaises with relevant travel focal points to ensure that the organization obtains the best service and price for all travel.
- Briefs/de-briefs staff members on issues relating to related administrative matters such as visas, security clearance, and documentation procedures.
- Responsible for collecting invoices and filing documents for approval and, thereafter processing in VISION.

- Completion of secondary education is required, preferably supplemented by technical or university courses related to the field of work.
- A minimum of 6 years of relevant administrative or clerical work experience is required.

For this position, a bachelor’s degree from a recognized academic institution in a relevant field may replace three years of related work experience. A master’s degree may replace additional two years (in addition to the three years from above, totaling 5 years)

Experience in a UN organization is an asset.
