Background
Reach Out is a women-led and youth-focused NGO with more than 23 years of experience in
Health, Human rights, and Wealth creation related activities. Related to our health activities in
the Global Fund project, “Scaling Up Malaria Control for High Impact” we are looking for 16
consultant nurses (8 based in the Northwest region and 8 based in the Southwest region).
Job Description
The Consultant nurse works within a mobile clinic team in the Northwest region. They will be
responsible for all nursing duties and responsibilities with the team including first aid, patient
education, treatment administration, community sensitization.
Project Overview
The project targets Host communities, IDP, and Returnee populations in urban and rural locations
who have disturbed access to HIV & TB services due to conflict in the Northwest and Southwest
regions of Cameroon.
Workplace
The consultant nurse will be stationed in the main town of multiple heath districts, where an
office and accommodation will be available for them. They will spend most of their time working
in rural areas.
Key Activity Areas
Mobile Clinic Management
• Assist the consultant physician in managing the assigned mobile clinic in order to meet
the project objectives within budget and the allotted time frame and report promptly any
operational concerns (e.g. projected failure to meet objectives; projected over or under
spending on project budget).
• Contribute to the development of an effective strategy including proactive planning for
responsible exit.
• Provide input into the integration of beneficiary participation in all aspects of the project.
• Ensure accurate reporting of activities according to standard REO and Global Fund
formats.
Staff Management
• Assist the consultant physician in managing the consultant lab technician, including dayto-day management, development and training, appraisals, etc.
• Provide coaching and training to staff to develop ownership and full responsibility for
activities.
Communication & Coordination
• Participate in health coordination meetings, Reach Out internal trainings, and other
working groups, representing Reach Out and feeding back on relevant issues.
Quality Management
• Promote and use the Reach Out protocols and other operating procedures.
• Ensure projects are implemented in line with donor requirements and in accordance with
Reach Out, donor, and international standards i.e. Sphere.
Code of conduct
• Reflect the values of Reach Out with team members, local staff, beneficiaries, and
external contacts.
• This job description covers the main tasks that are anticipated. Other tasks may be
assigned as necessary.

Qualifications
• A Nursing degree/diploma preferably Bachelor of Science of Nursing.
• Computer proficiency in windows, MS Office Suite, Google tools and the internet
• Minimum of 2-years professional experience preferably with an NGO.
• Very good command of English writing and speaking. Pidgin English is an asset
• Good report writing skills
• Able to work under pressure, able to multitask, excellent team player, and able to work
in a multinational environment.
