v Organizational context
Founded in 1993, Médecins du Monde -Suisse (MdM-Suisse) is a humanitarian organization working in Switzerland and internationally to establish sustainable access to healthcare for excluded people.
Present in Cameroon since 2013, MdM-Suisse deploys a strategy whose main aim is to improve the living conditions of vulnerable populations. In partnership with civil society organizations or local authorities, it implements projects in the field to sustainably improve access to healthcare for women and children, people in vulnerable situations and victims of crises and conflicts. It is in this context that MdM-Switzerland's Mission Cameroun is launching a call for applications to build up a database of drivers for its field office Bamenda.
1- POSITION DESCRIPTION (non-exhaustive)
Under the supervision of the Head of Administration and Logistics or the Logistics and Administrative Assistant, the Service Provider Driver will be responsible for carrying out the following activities and tasks:
Ø Transport people and goods in accordance with MdM-CH safety regulations
Ø Load and unload the material being transported, while respecting the vehicle's payload and ensuring that the load is properly secured.
Ø Carry out daily and weekly checks on vehicle functionality.
Ø Notify the manager in good time of any impending maintenance work on the vehicle, in order to plan the temporary immobilization of the vehicle.
Ø Keep the vehicle clean inside, outside and on the engine.
Ø Regularly check that equipment is in good condition: spare wheel, jack, straps, ropes, small tools, etc;
2- SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
2.1 Education
- Minimum FSLC (First school living certificate)
- Class B driving license
2.2 Professional experience
- At least (01) year as a Driver in an international organization
- Good knowledge of generic safety rules
2.3 General and specific skills
- Sense of responsibility
- Reliable and autonomous
- Good vision
- Highly responsible and defensive driving
- Attentive and discreet
- Hard-working and motivated
