Serenity Medical Center is currently seeking a dynamic and compassionate Certified Midwife to join our dedicated team of healthcare professionals in providing exceptional maternity care. Key Responsibilities:

- Provide comprehensive antenatal care, conducting initial assessments, monitoring maternal and fetal well-being, and offering guidance on healthy pregnancy practices.

- Conduct thorough and accurate examinations, including prenatal, intrapartum, and postpartum assessments, to ensure the safety and well-being of the mother and baby.

- Offer evidence-based care during labor and delivery and assistance while supporting the mother's birth plan and preferences.

- Facilitate breastfeeding initiation and provide education and support to new mothers on infant care, nutrition, and postpartum recovery.

- Implement infection control measures and adhere to clinical protocols to ensure a safe and hygienic environment in the maternity unit.

- Collaborate with obstetricians, pediatricians, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans for patients, fostering a multidisciplinary approach to maternity care.

- Provide emotional support and counseling to women and their families, addressing their concerns, fears, and questions related to childbirth and parenthood.

- Contribute to the ongoing professional development of the maternity care team through mentorship, education, and participation in quality improvement initiatives.

- Maintain accurate documentation of patient assessments, care plans, and interventions, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and ethical guidelines.

- Any other tasks as required.

Qualifications and Requirements:

- Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Midwifery from an accredited institution.

- Certification as a Midwife by the Cameroon Nursing Council

- Minimum of 3 years of clinical experience in a maternity care setting, demonstrating proficiency in antenatal, intrapartum, and postpartum care.

- In-depth knowledge of obstetric and neonatal best practices, including the recognition and management of obstetric emergencies and neonatal resuscitation.

- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to establish a rapport with patients, promoting trust, empathy, and effective communication.

- Commitment to upholding ethical standards and confidentiality, respecting patient autonomy, and practicing non-judgmental, culturally sensitive care.

- Ability to function effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment, collaborating with interdisciplinary teams and adapting to dynamic clinical demands.

- Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the capacity to prioritize tasks, manage multiple patients, and remain composed under pressure.
