CALL FOR INTERNAL/ EXTERNAL APPLICATIONS FOR THE RECRUITMENT OF THREE (03) IT ASSISTANT FOR THE GOVERNANCE, DECENTRALISATION, PEACE AND SOCIAL COHESION CLUSTER OF THE DEUTSCHE GESELLSCHAFT FÜR INTERNATIONALE ZUSAMMENARBEIT (GIZ) GmbH, BASED IN YAOUNDE, DOUALA AND BAFOUSSAM.
The Governance, Decentralisation, Peace and Social Cohesion Cluster brings together the various GIZ programmes which are working to improve local development through greater involvement in the municipalities and with multilateral partners, by improving public finances through effective revenue management; improving administrative civil status services; using digital systems to promote the village economy; unlocking funding for climate issues; and helping internally displaced persons and host communes, as well as refugees, to organise their lives more independently. The aim is to help internally displaced persons, host communities and refugees to organise their lives more independently.
To develop its activities, the Governance, Decentralisation, Peace and Social Cohesion cluster is looking for three (03) IT Assistants in Yaounde, Douala and Bafoussam.
The incumbent is responsible for the following activities:
- Server and network management
- Installing software and maintaining computers, printers, etc.
- Training project staff as required
- Providing technical support to users
- Supporting the management of the internet connection
- Document network and system configurations
- Propose digital solutions, both in-house and for partners
- Organise and run training courses as required in the various projects
- Provide support for system monitoring and data backup management
- Undertake other activities and tasks as instructed by his/her line manager

- Experience, Skills and qualifications
-BAC + 2/3 or higher diploma in IT/Telecommunications or equivalent.
- At least 2 years' professional experience in systems, networks and IT security
- Mastery of operating systems: Windows server 2016/2019 & Windows 10/11
- Knowledge of Microsoft 365
- Fluency in French and English, German would be an asset
- Good writing skills
- Good organisational, analytical and summarising skills
- Ability to work in a team and in a multicultural environment
- Sense of initiative and anticipation
- Ability to meet tight deadlines and work under pressure.
Starting date: 1 April 2024
Contract duration : 24 month renewable
Location : Yaoundé, Douala et Bafoussam

- Yaounde : Finance Manager Cluster
- Douala : PAMEC Director
- Bafoussam : PESOP Director
