Cameroon Mining Company is a leading iron ore producer in Africa. We are looking for a qualified and experienced HR Coordinator to join our team. You will be responsible for providing administrative support to the HR department and assisting with various HR functions, such as recruitment, training, performance management, and employee relations.
• Respond to internal and external HR related inquiries or requests and provide assistance
• Maintain records of personnel-related data in both paper and the database and ensure all employment requirements are met
• Support the recruitment/hiring process by sourcing candidates, performing background checks, assisting in shortlisting, issuing employment contracts, etc.
• Conduct or help with new employee orientation and onboarding
• Coordinate and facilitate training sessions and workshops for employees and managers
• Assist with performance appraisal and feedback processes
• Handle employee complaints and grievances and escalate them to the appropriate level
• Prepare and submit reports on general HR activity and metrics
• Assist in ad-hoc HR projects and initiatives
• Bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration, or related field
• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a HR coordinator, preferably in the mining industry
• Experience working in a mine and handling mining equipment
• Knowledge of HR policies and procedures and local labor laws
• Proficient in HR software and tools, such as SAP, Workday, and Indeed
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information
• Attention to detail and organizational skills
