HEAD OF COMPONENT - YAOUNDE - GIZ CAMEROUN
CALL FOR INTERNAL AND EXTERNAL APPLICATIONS FOR THE RECRUITMENT OF A (01) COMPONENT MANAGER FOR THE PROJECT PROMOTING TRANSFORMATIVE GENDER APPROACHES TO STRENGTHEN THE RESILIENCE OF CAMEROONIAN CIVIL SOCIETY TO THE SOUTH-WEST/NORTH-WEST REGIONS OF CAMEROON OF DEUTSCHE GESELLSCHAFT FÜR INTERNATIONALE ZUSAMMENARBEIT (GIZ/SoCiG) GmbH BASED IN YAOUNDE.
Context
To strengthen the social and economic participation of women, the objective of the Project (SoCiG) is “Civil society organizations committed to gender equality have made a more effective contribution to the equal social and economic participation of population of Cameroon, particularly in the North-West and South-West regions. ".
The project intervention areas are the Far North, North, Adamaoua, East and Center, Littoral, North West and South West regions. The project is deployed based on an approach to achieve four (04) Outputs:
- Output 1: The individual and organizational capacities of Cameroonian civil society organized and committed to gender equality have been strengthened with a view to greater participation in political dialogue.
- Output 2: The formats supported by civil society actors to modify gender roles, resolve conflicts or promote social cohesion in the North-West and South-West have been strengthened.
- Output 3: The resilience of the population of conflict-affected communities in the North West and South West has improved thanks to the involvement of civil society committed to gender equality.
- Output 4: The contribution of civil society actors to the holistic care of survivors of gender-based violence in the North-West and South-West has increased.
To this end, the Civil Society Gender Project (GIZ/SoCiG) is launching a call for applications for the recruitment of a (01) Component Manager for Outputs 2 to 4 based in Yaoundé.
- Core Tasks
- Technical, content-related and organisational implementation and substantive further development of a component (Outputs 2 to 4) and the continued development of the corresponding contents
- Main activities
- Budget management, achievement of objectives, operational planning of the component according to Capacity Works models
- Transmitting relevant requirements, conditions and restrictions in terms of your capacity to act with due regard for compliance rules and P&R.
- In consultation with the project director, the management of the component and all related activities, such as p. ex. Management of sub-contractors or consultant assignments, steering committees.
- Management of the staff employed in connection with this component, responsibility for security and crisis management in accordance with GIZ regulations.
- Management of matters related to occupational health and safety law.
- In consultation with the project director and the divisions responsible pour specific thematic areas: representation of themes related to the component vis-à-vis government bodies, political actors in the country, donors and within the development cooperation community.
- Support strategic development if necessary.
- Knowledge management such as training measures in your thematic area
- Management responsibility for at least six staff members of a diverse team (in bands 1 to 5) with due regard for P&R and GIZ’s applicable HR Policies, instruments and procedures within the framework of this component.
- Strengthening alliances and cooperation for the benefit of the company.
- Tasks assigned by the line manager, where required.
