Sex Workers and their Clients (TS/CTS)
Context
Cameroon is a beneficiary of the Global Fund grant as part of the implementation of the project "Acceleration of HIV prevention to contribute to the reduction of morbidity and mortality linked to HIV and Tuberculosis by 2026 under the grant "CMR-C-CARE CAMEROUN" where CARE International in Cameroon (CARE) was selected by the National Coordinating Body of Cameroon (ICN) to act as Principal Recipient (PR) of the Civil Society/Component community.
The main objectives of the project contribute to the reduction of morbidity and mortality linked to HIV, the mitigation of the social and economic burden of HIV on the development of the country and facilitates access to diagnosis and treatment of all forms. Tuberculosis including prevention to end the global tuberculosis epidemic. To ensure the implementation of this ambitious program, Care and Heath Program (CHP) was recruited as Sub- Recipient of CARE International in Cameroon, for its experience, competence and ability to work and provide assistance to Workers. of Sex and their Clients:
HUMFRIEH was recruited as Sub-Sub-Recipient by Care and Heath Program (CHP) For the implementation of this program in Buea Health District, for its experience, competence and ability to work and provide assistance to Sex Workers and their Clients (TS/CTS). To this end, she was made responsible for the implementation of community interventions to combat HIV in the city of BUEA.
The project aims to implement HIV and tuberculosis prevention actions within the community of sex workers and their clients, as part of the GC7 Program. Peer educators will play a vital role in raising awareness, educating and promoting healthy behaviors regarding HIV and TBA
Main Responsibilities:
• Raise awareness among sex workers and their clients about the risks associated with HIV and TB.
• Provide accurate information on HIV prevention, testing and treatment.
• Facilitate access to health and support services for TS/CTS.
• Promote safe and responsible sexual health behaviors.
• Ensure monitoring of beneficiaries and collection of data to assess the impact of activities.
Ill- Required profile :
• Prior experience in community work, preferably with vulnerable populations. Knowledge of issues related to HIV, TB and sexual health.
• Ability to communicate effectively and respectfully with diverse audiences.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Commitment to promoting the health and rights of sex workers and their clients.
• Fluency in written and oral English and/or French
• Have a mastery of TS and CTS milieu
• Knowledge of community mobilization strategy
• Knowledge of the technics of facilitating educational talks Have mastery of the cartography of the City of Buea or Muyuka
FOR ONLINE MOBILIZER PE
• Mastery of the use social Media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Telegram WhatsApp group of TS/CTS ...) and be a good communicator .
FOR THE HUMAN RIGHTS PE
• Knowledge in human rights and health HIV/AIDS programs
FOR THE PEER NAVIGATOR PE
• Be a PLHIV or an APS
