v   Organizational context

Founded in 1993, Doctors of the World Switzerland (MDM-CH) is a humanitarian organization working in Switzerland and internationally to establish sustainable access to healthcare for excluded people.

Present in Cameroon since 2013, MDM-CH deploys a strategy whose main aim is to improve the living conditions of vulnerable populations. In partnership with civil society organizations or local authorities, it implements projects in the field to sustainably improve access to healthcare for women and children, people in vulnerable situations and victims of crises and conflicts. It is in this context that MdM-CH Mission Cameroon is launching a call for applications to build up a database of drivers for its coordination offices (Yaoundé) and field offices (Foumban and Bamenda). 

1-     JOB DESCRIPTION (non-exhaustive)

Under the supervision of the Administration and Logistics Officer or the Logistics and Administrative Assistant, the Contract Driver will be responsible for carrying out the following activities and tasks:

·        Transport people and goods in accordance with MdM-CH safety rules;

·        Load and unload the material being transported, while respecting the vehicle's payload and ensuring that the load is properly secured;

·        Carry out daily and weekly checks on vehicle functionality;

·        Report any impending maintenance work on the vehicle to the supervisor in good time, in order to plan the temporary immobilization of the vehicle;

·        Keep the vehicle clean inside, outside and on the engine;

·        Regularly check that equipment is in good condition: spare wheel, jack, straps, ropes, small tools, etc;

2-      REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE 

2.1 Education

-         Minimum Ordinary level (first cycle)

-          Class B Driving License

2.2 Professional experience

-         At least (01) year as a Driver in an international organization

-         Good knowledge of generic safety rules

2.3 General and specific skills

-         Sense of responsibility

-          Reliable and autonomous

-          Good vision

-          Drive very responsibly and defensively

-          Attentive and discreet

-         Hard-working and motivated
