Background
LifeAID is a non-profit organization that fosters youth centered development initiatives, peace, security and development. Its mandate is to catalyze peace, security and development processes in Africa.

LifeAID seeks to recruit an experienced Programs Associate for its Buea Branch Office in the South West Region of Cameroon, to provide leadership, management and technical guidance to ensure the achievement of her objectives and delivery of program/project outputs in close consultation with the Branch coordinator and headquarters team as the case may be.

The ideal candidate will be a proactive problem solver with exceptional program/project and coordination skills and meticulous attention for details. This person should have experience in designing, planning, implementation, and evaluation of various programs and performing field and branch coordination duties. Given the dynamic nature of the executive landscape, we rely on such a staff to be flexible and consistent while maintaining the confidentiality of high-level systems and operations.

Duties and Responsibilities
The primary duties of the Programs Associate will include:

Take charge of the development, implementation and evaluation of all Branch programs, projects and activities as oriented by the general plan of action and branch plans;
Provide high-level technical support and assistance to the Branch Coordinator and headquarter staff, stakeholders and partners;
Provide technical guidance to various interventions, partners, while identifying and addressing key issues and approaches for the participatory identification, demonstration and replication of actions in their area of assignment and as determined by hierarchy;
Assist with technical and financial grant management;
Assist to with branch coordination, liaison and maintain good communication with partners and other stakeholders including;
Answer philanthropy, grant award inquiries and general questions about LifeAID;
Assist with monitoring, evaluation, accountability and learning of all actions and activities in their area of work under the direct coordination of the branch coordinator;
Assist to provide sustainable strategies, offer recommendations and orientate the affairs to achieved desired outcome;
Design and Perform other related duties as assigned by the branch coordinator;
Qualifications
At least a Bachelor’s Degree in Project Management, Public Management, Development studies, Peace and Security, Governance and Democracy or its equivalent;
Two (2) or more years of experience in a similar position;
Strong Program management skills including ability to provide strategic guidance, technical oversight, mentor staff, build strong teams, develop work plans, and manage budgets and project expenditures;
Significant experience in the management/coordination of complex programs, projects/teams at national or regional levels;
Strong time-management skills and the ability to organize and coordinate multiple concurrent project and human resource;
Flexible team player, willing to adapt to changes and unafraid of challenges;
Ability to maintain confidentiality or non-disclosure of information;
Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines;
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with proficiency in English and working Knowledge of French;
Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment;
Extremely proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software with the ability to learn new or updated software.
