JOB VACANCY : Quarry Manager  - APAVE INTERNATIONAL CONSULTING

APAVE Cameroon is recruiting a Quarry Manager forone of its clients in the construction industry.

 

Main objective of the position
The Commercial Quarry Manager is responsible for the overall management of gravel quarry operations, with particular emphasis on business development, sales management and supervision of gravel extraction and processing activities. The aim is to ensure the profitability of the quarry while maintaining high standards of safety, quality and operational efficiency.

 

Main tasks

 

1.       Operational management (from extraction to transformation)

·         Supervision of all stages of gravel extraction and processing.

·         Process optimization to improve efficiency and productivity.

·         Implementing best practices in safety and quality.

 

2.       Business Development

·         Development and implementation of strategies to increase sales and develop new markets.

·         Negotiating contracts with customers and partners.

·         Monitor market trends and adapt sales offers.

 

3.       Budget management

·         Drawing up and managing career budgets.

·         Track expenses and revenues to ensure profitability.

·         Financial analysis to identify cost optimization opportunities.

 

4.       Human Resources Management

·         Employee recruitment, training and development.

·         Performance management and conflict resolution.

·         Promoting a safe and productive working environment.

 

5.       Maintenance management

·         Supervision of equipment and infrastructure maintenance.

·         Planning and execution of preventive maintenance programs.

·         Management of necessary repairs and improvements.

 

6.       Logistics and Transport Management

·         Coordination of transport and logistics activities to ensure efficient product delivery.

·         Inventory and supply management.

·         Optimizing supply chains to reduce costs and lead times.

Requirements
Training :

·         Civil engineering + an MBA or equivalent.

 

Experience :

·         More than 08 years' experience in management positions, ideally on the African continent.

·         Good knowledge of the quarrying sector and its specific features.

 

Skills :

·         Strategic vision and ability to develop long-term plans.

·         Leadership and team management with problem-solving skills.

·         Communication skills to interact effectively with internal and external stakeholders

·         Knowledge of environmental and safety regulations in the mining and quarrying sector.

 

The ideal candidate will be a construction specialist with solid expertise in the field of construction, as well as in-depth knowledge of operations linked to the extraction and transformation of materials.
