LIBRARIAN JOB ADVERT The Bridge International Library is looking to hire a Librarian to join our team starting from August 2024. Applicants must have a relevant qualification in Library Science and/or at least three successful years of experience in a library environment/ related field. They must embody the library’s Mission, Vision, and Motto at all times. They should be optimistic, open-minded, collaborative, kind, and reflective about their own practice and how it can better meet the informational and personal needs of each patron, consistent with the library’s dedicated approach to personalized service.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• At least 3 successful years of experience in a library environment
• Holding a Bachelor Degree in Library Science or a related field
• Proficiency with library management systems and digital resources
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Be able to work in Douala, starting 01st August 2024
• Cameroonian/Local only

SUITABLE CANDIDATES WILL:

• Be able to manage and organize library resources effectively
• Assist patrons with research, locating materials, and using library resources
• Plan and conduct programs and events for various age groups
• Maintain the library catalog and ensure the accuracy of records
• Provide guidance on information literacy and research techniques
• Stay updated with new trends in library science and implement best practices
• Inspire and engage patrons with a passion for books and learning
• Have experience with the latest library technologies and applications

Experience with the Cambridge Framework or a similar system would be an advantage.
