Actions Against Hunger is an International Non Governmental Organization (NGO), apolitical,
non denominational and non-profit. For our operations in Cameroon, we are looking for:
MEAL INTERN (EMERGENCY RECRUITMENT) M/F
Base: Kumba (south west region)
Number of positions : 1
Contract duration: Until 31st December 2024

supervised by: MEAL Manager
Location : Kumba
1. Purpose and Delivery:
The MEAL intern will provide professional support to the MEAL department.
The MEAL intern will be trained to ensure that he/she is acquainted with the
MEAL skills, standards, and procedures.
The MEAL Intern will work under the technical and managerial
directives/supervision of the MEAL Manager.
2. Essential job duties and main objective
The MEAL intern will provide support to the MEAL department, especially on the South
West Base while upgrading his/her skills and competencies in MEAL.
3. Responsibilities:
Support in the effective management of feedback and complaint mechanism.
Support in the management of qualitative and quantitative project/program data.
Support in the preparation and timely submission of MEAL reports.
Support in the planning of MEAL activities, using various planning tools.
Participate in project/program and MEAL meetings.
Support in the planning and implementation of surveys/assessments.
Support in planning and execution of capacity building activities.
Support in learning activities
Support in carrying out monitoring activities.
Participate in the development of project/program monitoring tools.
Participate in development of MEAL tools (MEAL plan, IPTT…etc)
Carry out basic printing, scanning and archiving of MEAL documents and reports.
Responsible to report any difficulties to the supervisor.
Submit weekly report to the supervisor.
Available of perform other tasks as directed by the supervisor.
4. Reporting.
As instructed by the line manager, prepare activity reports, in line with the
frequencies established for the Mission (each week and month), and ensure that
statistical data is regularly updated.
DIPLOMAS/STUDIES/EXPERIENCE
A first degree in M&E or MEAL, data science, statistics, Management Information systems,
public health, project management, social science or any related field no more than 18
months old.
Should have atleast 6 months of professional experience in MEAL activities in preferably
in health and Nutrition or other related projects preferably within a development and/or
humanitarian NGO. (INGO will be an added advantage).
REQUIRED SKILLS :
Fast typing skills; knowledge of touch typing system is strongly preferred
Excellent knowledge of word processing tools and spreadsheets (MS Office Word, Excel)
Basic understanding of databases, data analysis and reporting skills
Good command of English both oral and written
Familiar with basic android or Smartphone applications
Experienced in SMART data collection, particularly Kobo Toolbox is an asset.
Good capacity to work in a team, capacity to manage priorities,
Have the ability to work under pressure, good organizational and interpersonal skills,
Innovative, motivated and able to work with minimal supervision and strict deadlines
Willing to accomplish each day’s work with peers and supervisor at the end of each day,
which may involve long working hours.
