JOB ANNOUNCEMENT
Shwari Health Cameroon is a locally registered organization with a vision to ensure the provision of quality, effective and innovative evidence-based solutions to address health systems challenges within the health sector in Cameroon and beyond with a special focus to children and adolescents. To achieve this, Shwari Health Cameroon uses proven community strategies to identify HIV infected children and adolescents, refer them to health facilities for initiation on treatment, support and accompany them through treatment to ensure they remain in care and achieve viral suppression. Our mission is to be one of the most sought-after implementations science associations in Cameroon that uses evidence-based strategies to effectively cover the ‘Know-Do’ gaps in the provision of health services. We aim to achieve this through the application of modern evidence generation and synthesis methods to understand operational contexts so as to devise strategies that could make the implementation efforts more effective and efficient. SHWARI Health Association, in partnership with Georgetown University's Center for Global Health Practice and Impact (CGHPI), the Government of the Republic of Cameroon's Regional Technical Groups (RTGs), will be implementing a project titled SAFECARE-Cameroon, which is a 5-year CDC/PEPFAR-Funded project. SAFECARE-Cameroon’s goal is to develop, implement, and sustain comprehensive facility and community-based HIV services for children, adolescents, and adults in Cameroon in PEPFAR supported regions of the country and support the country to fast track its progress to achieve HIV epidemic control. As a result, SHWARI Health Association Cameroon (SHAC) is recruiting for the following program implementation positions. All prospective candidates must be fluent in French and working knowledge of English. These positions will be based in Yaoundé or Bertoua.

Position: Graphics and Communication Specialist, SAFECARE Project -Cameroon

Position Overview: The Graphics and Communication Specialist will lead SHWARI Health Cameroon's communications efforts, developing compelling visual content and implementing effective communication strategies to promote the organization's work, including the SAFECARE-Cameroon project. S/He will be responsible for leading the organization's communication efforts by creating compelling visual content, managing communication platforms, and implementing strategies to promote SHWARI's programs, including the SAFECARE-Cameroon project. This role will be crucial in enhancing the visibility of SHWARI’s work and effectively conveying its mission and impact through various communication channels.
Essential Functions
Develop and Implement a Comprehensive Communications Strategy:
• Design and execute a holistic communications plan that aligns with SHWARI's mission, values, and strategic goals.
• Identify target audiences and tailor communication strategies to engage stakeholders, including donors, partners, and the general public.
• Continuously evaluate and refine the communication strategy to ensure effectiveness and adaptability to changing needs.
Create Visually Appealing Graphics and Visual Content:
• Design high-quality visual content, including graphics, infographics, and illustrations, to support SHWARI's communication efforts across print and digital media.
• Develop visuals for reports, presentations, and social media platforms that are informative, impactful, and aligned with SHWARI's brand identity.
• Collaborate with program teams to visually translate complex data and research into accessible and engaging formats for diverse audiences.
Design and Produce Print Materials:
• Develop and produce a wide range of print materials, such as brochures, flyers, posters, and annual reports, ensuring that they are visually compelling and effectively communicate key messages.
• Oversee the entire design process, from concept development to final production, ensuring all materials are of high quality and delivered on time.
• Work with external vendors for the production and distribution of print materials, maintaining quality control and adherence to deadlines.
Manage SHWARI’s Social Media Presence:
• Develop and implement a social media strategy to grow SHWARI's online presence and engage with key audiences on platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and Instagram.
• Create engaging and relevant content, including visuals, posts, and stories, to increase follower engagement and raise awareness of SHWARI's projects and impact.
• Monitor social media trends and analytics to adjust content strategies and maximize reach and engagement.
Ensure Consistent Branding Across All Communication Materials:
• Uphold SHWARI's brand identity by ensuring consistency in visual elements, tone, and messaging across all communication platforms and materials.
• Develop and maintain brand guidelines to ensure consistent use of logos, fonts, color schemes, and other branding elements.
• Conduct regular reviews of communication materials to ensure they meet SHWARI’s branding standards.
Collaborate with Program Teams to Communicate Project Outcomes:
• Work closely with program teams to understand project goals, outcomes, and impact, and translate these into compelling communication materials.
• Assist in preparing success stories, case studies, and other content that highlights the achievements of SHWARI’s programs.
• Ensure that program outcomes are effectively communicated to donors, partners, and stakeholders through a variety of channels.
Develop and Maintain Relationships with Media Outlets:
• Build and nurture relationships with local, national, and international media outlets to increase SHWARI's visibility and coverage.
• Write press releases, pitch stories, and organize media events to secure positive media coverage for SHWARI’s work.
• Act as the primary point of contact for media inquiries and manage relationships with journalists and reporters.
Monitor and Report on the Effectiveness of Communication Activities:
• Track and analyze the performance of communication activities, including social media engagement, media coverage, and campaign impact.
• Provide regular reports on communication metrics and outcomes to the leadership team, highlighting areas of success and opportunities for improvement.
• Use data-driven insights to refine communication strategies and enhance the effectiveness of SHWARI's outreach efforts.
Qualifications and Experience
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Communications, Marketing, or a related field.
• Experience: Minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in graphic design and communications, with a preference for candidates with experience in the health or non-profit sector.
• Skills:
o Proficiency in graphic design software such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and other relevant design tools.
o Strong portfolio demonstrating a diverse range of design skills and styles across print and digital media.
o Excellent writing and editing skills in French; proficiency in English is a strong advantage.
o Demonstrated experience in managing social media platforms, content creation, and community engagement.
o Experience in video production, photography, and multimedia content creation is a plus.
o Knowledge of health communication principles and best practices, with the ability to create content that resonates with health-related audiences.
• Language: Fluency in French is required, and working knowledge of English is a plus.

Working Conditions:
• This position may require occasional travel within Cameroon for field visits and events.
• The role may involve working outside standard office hours to meet project deadlines or manage urgent communications needs.
