Job Description: Sales Intern

Reports to: Business Development Associate
Location: Yaounde, Cameroon
Compensation: Stipend
Grassland is a food storage, drying, and distribution company that sources products from smallholder farmers,
whom we support during the season with input loans and training, so that they can be more productive. We
transform the farmers' produce into standardized, graded products that we sell to large industrial buyers who
can be sure of the quality they receive. Our flagship product BooWee is Cameroon’s first fortified instant
fermented maize cereal.
The sales intern is a student who has just completed his or her degree. He/she will assist the Sales Consultant
and/ or Business Development Associate in performing both online and traditional sales and supporting daily
activities.
Responsibilities
● Promoting and selling BooWee to visitors in supermarkets;
● Prospecting and selling to mothers, students, etc in major markets across Yaoundé;
● Checking BooWee packs for leaks and place them in boxes for sale;
● Verify that packs for distribution have not reached their sell-by date;
● Preparing Boowee and providing tastings for promotional campaigns and other events;
● Generating daily/weekly field reports with "GPS" locations via the sales team forum;
● Participating in organizing other company events including trade fairs and exhibitions;
● Push social media content marketing our products and promotional campaigns;
● Manage day-to-day social media campaigns;
● Become an advocate of the Company in social media spaces, engaging in dialogues and
answering questions where appropriate;
● Provide regular feedback based on insights gained from social media monitoring to
management for sales and trade show or other opportunities
Requirements
● Keen interest in brand development and management
● Excellent writing skills in English & French
● Demonstrated digital marketing knowledge and experience
● Aware of cultural references for the Cameroonian and international markets
● In-depth knowledge and understanding of social media platforms and strategies to improve
engagement and community building
● Knowledge of blogging ecosystem relevant to agribusiness and our product
● Strong team player, with quick decision making skills & the ability to multitask
● Willing to learn and grow in a startup environment
