RECRUITMENT: INTERNAL & EXTERNAL
ECOBANK Cameroun S.A. is recruiting a Head Cash Management, ready to work across the national territory.
The position is based in Douala. Job level: 7 Job grade: 4C
I. JOB PURPOSE
Manage all in-country Departments handling Cash Management operations i.e Funds Transfer (all types, incoming/outgoing, local currency/foreign currency), Clearing & Collections processes.
II. KEY RESPONSABILITIES
• Drive all in-country initiatives in relation to Cash Management operations including managing implementation of new products, systems, procedures & processes
• Responsible for accurate and timely implementation of group initiated procedures for various products and processes in the affiliate
• Act as the principal single point of contact in the country for all Cash Management Operations matters and provide timely feedback and responses to the Group office and other partners when required
• Lead in-country efforts to enhance efficiency of Cash Management processes especially in relation to fully implementing end to end straight through processing (STP) capabilities in relation to all SWIFT messaging as well as other processes and procedures not related to SWIFT
• Ensure timely processing and settlement of all customer transactions including inter-affiliate transactions to world class standards
• Ensure that the bank attends all scheduled clearing house sessions without any exceptions
• Drive the optimal usage of all bank systems (especially Flexcube) by ensuring all staff in the departments are fully versed with all the capabilities of each system in order to maximize the benefits to our customers and the bank
• Implement an effective Key Performance Indicator (KPI) process for the staff in the Cash Management Ops units
• Be on top of Cash Management head count and expense numbers in the country and support the business to drive these down without compromising on service quality or risk management
• Ensure timely reconciliations within the Cash Management departments including but not limited to Nostro’s, suspense accounts, clearing accounts, inter-branch accounts, sundries etc
• Put in place appropriate processes & procedures e.g. Key Risk Indicators (KRI’s) to control and manage the key operational risks in the Cash Management departments including errors and fraud
• Keep abreast of local, regional and international market developments around Cash Management products and ensure that Ecobank stays ahead of these developments
• Develop a training agenda and provide training to other staff in country and possibly regionally on general & Cash Management operations topics
• Provide training and guidance to Cash Management Operations staff on Group policies, procedures and risk management strategies
• Own the process of delivering MT940 SWIFT format statements to our customers that request for them including ensuring that the required maintenances are carried out properly and timely and that the messages are successfully transmitted to SWIFT daily.
III. JOB PROFILE
Experience & Qualifications
• 6 years working experience in operations with exposure to a variety of business functions.
• Comprehensive knowledge of banking practice and theory, group rules and policies and local regulations.
• In depth knowledge and understanding of the concepts of Cash Management products and their uses
• Proven ability to supervise people and manage operations functions.
• Proper understanding of SWIFT messaging formats and standards
• Thorough understanding of clearing and inter-bank payment systems
• Minimum Bac+3

• Demonstrated ability to work with team members from other areas e.g. the front office business to accomplish common objectives
• Ability to work on many tasks simultaneously in a high-pressure environment
• Ability to carry out the responsibilities of this position with little direction

• Must possess excellent written and oral communication skills in English, French and any other language
• Must possess strong troubleshooting skills and analytical skills.
