For our Country Office in Cameroon, we are looking for a dynamic and committed People & Culture Intern.
Reports to: People & Culture Manager
Location: Yaounde
Duration: six (06) months, renewable subject to performance, budget availability and organizational needs
Mission of the department
The People & Culture (P&C) department is responsible for attracting, developing and retaining talent while ensuring a supportive work environment.
Major functions
The objective of this internship is to provide administrative and operational support to the P&C team, ensuring the smooth execution of core HR processes. The intern will gain hands‑on experience in the full employee lifecycle within an international conservation NGO while contributing to the efficiency of the department.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
The intern will support the P&C team in the following functional areas:
1.
Contract management
•
Assist in the preparation, drafting and issuance of employment contracts, amendments and extension letters for staff, consultants and volunteers.
•
Maintain a centralized contract tracking system (physical and digital) to ensure timely renewals and probationary reviews.
•
Support the onboarding process by ensuring all pre‑employment documentation (certificates, references, IDs) is collected and verified prior to the start date.
2.
Talent acquisition (TA)
•
Provide administrative support for the recruitment lifecycle.
•
Contribute to interview schedules coordination between candidates and hiring panels; prepare interview materials and assessment tools.
•
Contribute to reference checks process and support the drafting of offer letters.
3.
Performance management
•
Assist in the administration of the performance management during the mid‑year and

end‑year review cycles.
•
Monitor and update performance management trackers.
•
Assist in compiling performance improvement and development plans documentation and ensure proper filing.
•
Regularly update performance-related dashboards to reflect real‑time progress against targets.
4.
Reporting, metrics & dashboards
•
Update and maintain the HR Information System (HRIS) with accurate employee data (new hires, transfers, leavers).
•
Assist in the production and regular updating of P&C trackers, including recruitment pipelines, contract expiry calendars, leave balances, and training records.
•
Support the design and generation of monthly/quarterly People & Culture metrics and dashboards covering headcount, turnover, gender diversity, recruitment effectiveness, performance review completion, and other strategic HR indicators for management and donor reporting.
•
Ensure data accuracy and consistency across all dashboards and contribute to the visualization of trends using tools such as Excel or Power BI.
5.
Filing & administrative support
•
Ensure proper digital and physical archiving of personnel files in compliance with WWF’s data privacy and audit standards.
•
Handle general P&C correspondence, respond to routine staff inquiries regarding leave balances, policies, and documentation.
•
Support the organization of P&C events such as staff assemblies, wellness days, and training workshops.
Perform any other duties as required by management in line with organisational needs.
Profile:
Required Qualifications
●
Currently pursuing or recently graduated (within the last 12 months) with a bachelor’s or master’s degree in human resources management, Business Administration, Industrial Psychology, Social Law, or a related field.
●
One (01) year of cumulative experiences in an HR/Administrative role (previous internships or volunteer experience in HR is highly desirable).
●
Experience with HR Information Systems (HRIS) is an advantage.
Required Skills and Competencies
●
Bilingualism: Fluent in both English and French (written and spoken), with the ability to communicate effectively in a bilingual work environment and to translate or adapt documents as needed.
●
Computer literacy: Strong mastery of MS Office tools, particularly Excel (pivot tables, formulas, data management), Word, and PowerPoint; familiarity with HRIS or data visualization tools is an asset.
●
Adaptability & multicultural mindset: Open and willing to learn in a multicultural environment, demonstrating respect for diversity, flexibility, and a proactive attitude toward new tasks and collaboration across teams.
