As part of the reinforcement of its working capacities, PECTEN EMPLOYEES COOPERATIVE CREDIT UNION (PECCU – BOD) is recruiting an ACCOUNTANT.

Missions:
Placed under the responsibility of the Director General, we need the services of an Accountant with a thorough knowledge of the Cameroon tax laws, OHADA and COBAC Accounting principles. Mastery of financial accounting of Microfinance will be an added advantage.
Responsabilities:
1. Have a proper understanding of all the transactions in all the General Ledger Accounts.
2. Collect, study and analyze all bank statements and reconciliation of all Bank and Third party Accounts.
3. Analyze all bank standing orders or deduction at source for treatment into the software by the Accounts Clerk.
4. Update all the accounts and ensuring that all the receipts and backing documents are properly filed.
5. Update the assets register, keeping a proper file of such assets regularly, and giving reference numbers to any new assets acquired.
6. Prepare monthly financial statement, budgetary control, ratio analysis, coverage report etc to the Board and copies forwarded to the appropriate Bodies after deliberation.
7. Reconciles the cashiers on a daily bases before closing.
8. Ensures that cash receipt and payment vouchers are raised for every cash transaction that is processed at the Branch Office.
9. Assist in drafting periodic management reports and keeping the Board of Directors informed of all Branch office operations, problems and possible solutions. Reviews financial results and reports the key trends and occurrences that underline these results together with advice on which problems should be prioritized
10. Supervises all staff under his/her department and actively participates in their induction and on-the-job training.
11. Attends to members with cases that cannot be handled over the counter.
12. Check lighting and surveillance system.
13. Reconciles Bank and third parties accounts monthly.
14. Maintains a good relationship with co-workers, management, elected officials and the general membership.
15. Performs other duties as may be assigned from time to time by the General Manager.
Required skills:
• Good knowledge of financial analysis;
• Good knowledge of the microfinance and/or banking sector;
• Knowledge of sales techniques and commercial negotiation;
• Good knowledge of office tools: Word and Excel.

Education:
• Minimum BAC G2 +3 in Accounting and Finance;
