Position: Administration and Finance Officer (2 year FTC)
Job description
The mission of the Administration and Finance Officer is to support the Global Conservation (GC)
Cameroon programme on administrative, financial and budget aspects which are necessary to
operate the GC Programme in Cameroon.
The post will be based at GC’s office in Yaoundé.
Main responsibilities:
The Administration and Finance Officer shall perform the following tasks:
Ensure a good understanding of project activities and budgets;
Follow the guidelines of each project;
Validate the budget proposals under supervision of the Central Africa Director;
Monitoring and implementation of procedures and financial regulations of GC, while also
ensuring the availability of supporting and all administrative and accounting records
documents;
Write monthly financial reports as needed ......... ..;
Write, ensure the update of contracts for staff and service providers and compliance with
the terms thereof;
Make payment of wages and establish the payroll of the staff;
Ensure the daily monitoring of support staff (drivers, guards, and cleaners) and organize
the management of logistics (vehicles) for any travel outside and in our action areas;
Check with the drivers (valid driving license, insurance, oil changes, tyre condition,
medicine box, safety equipment, vehicle logbook, satellite phone in the vehicle) ; ask them
to observe the rules of conduct and safety within the GC and make sure that that the travel
plan is drafted and implemented;
Do an inventory of all equipment twice a year;
Track any equipment and make sure that the equipment is in good condition before and
after the return of each mission;
Ensure payment of supplier invoices (water, electricity, internet etc.) service providers,
monitoring and development of staff files from the relevant services: CNPS, taxes, labor
inspection;
Administrative monitoring of the office;
Manage incoming and outgoing mail and ensure all relationships with banks and other
partners;
Monitor Health and Safety by programming the first aid trainings and stimulation of
accidents every three months.
Ensure that every visitor or new employee receives GC Cameroon Induction Booklet
document containing the necessary information he will need during his stay in Cameroon.
Required qualifications and abilities :
Position : Administration and Finance Officer 2
Extensive knowledge in accounting. Relevant experience of at least 3 years in
administrative and financial management of projects, preferably within the framework of
funding by international donors.
Good knowledge of Quickbooks and SaasAnt Transactions;
Good knowledge of computer skills (Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Internet)
Knowledge of English required;
Organizational and administrative rigor;
Ability to manage priorities;
Ability to manage staff and teamwork;
Openness and ability to adapt;
Good leadership
Open to others, diplomat
