Missions:
Placed under the responsibility of the Director General , the main missions of the Loan and Recovery Officer is first of all to ensure the eligibility to proceed with loans and evaluate how creditworthy or not a person might be based on their history and current finances before recommending them for approval and in addition he is responsible for the collection of debts prior to legal recovery proceedings commencing, negotiating payments/payment arrangements, handling debtor enquiries and provides administrative assistance to the team.
Responsibilities:
• Prospect customers;
• Analyze credit applications;
• Determine the creditworthiness of customers;
• Determine repayment capacity based on credit demand;
• Analyze all the risks inherent in a loan file;
• Draft briefing notes for the credit committee;
• Follow the steps of the credit process;
• Ensure the repayment of loans from clients in its portfolio;
• Monitor the evolution of clients' activity and the use they make of their loan;
• Ensure the management of pre-litigation with defaulting clients in compliance with the rules in force;
• Verification of the level of provision of impaired claims of the institution as well as reversals of provisions;
• The conduct of actions specific to pre-litigation (field visits, heritage evaluation, drafting of memoranda of understanding, etc.) •
• The validation of summary notes in each file retracing the history of relations with the debtor and indicating the amounts to be recovered and the actions taken;
• Preparation and participation in litigation/recovery committees, followed by drafting of related reports; •
• The monthly reporting of the activities of its field of activity (recovery, file entries, sales seizures, etc ....
• Sell all products and services offered by the institution to any potential client.
Required skills:
• Good knowledge of financial analysis and ability to work with complicated financial date ;
• Good knowledge of the microfinance and/or banking sector;
• Knowledge of sales techniques and commercial negotiation and ability to work with sensitive information;
• Good knowledge of office tools: Word and Excel.

Education:
• Minimum BAC+4/5 in, Marketing, Sales, Management Sciences, Accounting, Banking and Finance, Law or other related disciplines;
• 3-4 Years’ experience in the field of credit is desirable.
• English–French bilingualism would be an asset.
