The Oppotunity:
The CPiE Officer is responsible for the creation and follow-up of Community Based Child Protection Mechanisms (CBCPMs) in accordance with the Project Partnership Agreement signed between Plan International and ECHO, ensuring the creation of new CBCPMs and assuring the functionality of existing ones at the field level.
The CPiE Officer will work closely with Social/Case Workers, Community Leaders, Psychologist, Case Management Officer and Project Coordinator to ensure functionality and sustainability of CBCPMs as planned. You will actively participate in co-ordination meetings, advocate and gain support from local community leaders and stakeholders on your mission to timely and effectively deliver on project activities and other outputs.
The Individual/About You:
As the CPiE Officer, you are expected to demonstrate a strong commitment to child protection and gender equality, whild proving your ability to work independently and as a team player who demonstrates leadership. You should be able to support and train staff and other stakeholders on CPiE related issues.
You should be able to work with disaster affected communities in a sensitive and participatory manner, thanks to your well developed written and oral communication skills - alongside ability to communicate clearly and sensitively - with internal and external stakeholders as a representative of Plan International Cameroon; this willbe supported by your effective negotiation and representation skills.
With you having atleast two (2) years practical working experience in emergency/security volatile contexts with a humanitarian organization and one (01) year experience in Child Protection in Emergencies, good knowledge and understanding of humanitarian principles and established international child protection standards will only help you meet the mission of this role.
