JOB VACANCY : an Agricultural Technician - The Aghem Cooperative Credit Union Ltd

The Aghem Cooperative Credit Union Ltd with registered head office in Wum, Menchum Division is a microfinance institution that supports farmers in Menchum Division with loans and training. We are seeking to hire an Agricultural Technician between the ages of 25 to 35years to join our team and help us achieve our vision Of improving the livelihoods Of Our members and the community.
As an Agricultural Technician, you will be responsible for:
     Monitoring crop health and growth.
         Advising farmers on the selection of crops suitable for the region and soil conditions.
         Recommending appropriate fertilizers and soil amendments based on test results.
     Identifying and diagnosing pest and disease issues affecting crops.
     Recommending and implementing pest control measures, including the use of pesticides or integrated pest management strategies.
  Providing education and training to farmers on best practices and new developments in agriculture.
  Conducting workshops or demonstrations to enhance farmers' skills and knowledge.   Collaborating with agricultural researchers to contribute to the development of new technologies or improved farming practices.
         Conducting on-farm trials to test the effectiveness of different techniques.
To apply for this position, you should have
  An HND in Agricultural science or related field from a recognized institution.   knowledge in project writing and management.
  Good communication and interpersonal skills.
     Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
     Willingness to travel to remote areas and interact with farmers.
Relevant work experience in Crop Production and Project Management will be an added advantage.
