Background
LifeAID is a non-profit organization that fosters youth centered development initiatives, peace, security and development. Its mandate is to catalyze peace, security and development processes in Africa.
LifeAID seeks to recruit an experienced Branch Coordinator for the South West and North West Regions to provide overall leadership, management and technical guidance to ensure the achievement of her objectives and delivery of project outputs across the South West and littoral Regions of Cameroon in close consultation with the president, national office, stakeholders and partners.
The ideal candidate will be a proactive problem solver with exceptional coordination skills and meticulous attention for details. This person should have experience working in an office environment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of various programs and performing administrative duties. Given the dynamic nature of the executive landscape, we rely on coordinator to be flexible and consistent while maintaining the confidentiality of high-level systems and operations.
Duties and Responsibilities
The primary duties of the Branch Coordinator will include:
Provide high-level technical support and assistance to the President of LifeAID and/or national office, stakeholders and partners;
Provide technical guidance to lifeAID’s interventions, partners, identifying and addressing key issues, harmonizing technical objectives and approaches, formulating guidelines for the participatory identification, demonstration, testing/adaptation and replication of sustainable approaches across their assigned regions;
Plan and support the recruitment and supervision of experts/contract institutions/partners in accordance with LifeAID’s adopted SAP;
Schedule and attend meetings on behalf of LifeAID or as assigned by headquarters;
Assist with technical and financial grant writing and management;
Ensure effective liaison and maintain good communication with partners and other stakeholders including;
Answer philanthropy, grant award inquiries and general questions about LifeAID in their area of work or as directed by the headquarters;
Draft contracts with selected partners (MoUs), for approval by the Chair;
Maintain records on technical and financial aspects of all operation, including monitoring of project activities and their outcomes; as well as minutes, decisions and recommendations of meetings and workshops for support and guidance;
Perform office tasks including maintaining records, ordering supplies, and performing basic bookkeeping;
Provide sustainable strategies, offer recommendations and orientate the affairs to achieve desired outcome;
Design and Perform branch specific activities or other related duties as validated or assigned by headquarters.
Qualifications
A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent; with a combination of training and experience;
At least Three (3) years of experience in a similar position
Good expertise and experience in research, policy development and practice;
Good skills in organizational development, strategic planning, mobilization and management including ability to provide strategic guidance, technical oversight, mentor staff, build strong teams, develop work plans, and manage budgets and project expenditure;
Oversee the design, implementation, and evaluation of branch specific programs and initiatives, ensuring they align with LifeAID objectives;
Proficiency in English and working knowledge in French;
Extensive experience in the management/coordination of complex projects/teams at national or regional levels;
Strong ability to develop, organize and coordinate multiple concurrent projects and activities;
Flexible team player, willing to adapt to changes and unafraid of challenges.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and non-disclosure of information;
Sufficient experience in fundraising;
Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines;
Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment;
Extremely proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software with the ability to learn new or updated software;
Ability to provide decisive leadership while receiving insight, orientation and advice from headquarters and diverse stakeholders;
Ensure LifeAID’s plans, goals, and objectives and branch specific actions are prepared, executed, and evaluated promptly;
Build and maintain positive relationships with key stakeholders, including government agencies, community organizations, partner NGOs, and the media in their branch;
Represent LifeAID in public forums, conferences, and meetings, advocating for its mission and raising awareness of its work as instructed by hierarchy.
