Action Against Hunger – Cameroon

Actions Against Hunger is an International Non Governmental Organiztion (NGO), apolitical,
non denominational and non-profit. For our operations in Cameroon, we are looking for:
LOGISTICS OFFICER (EMERGENCY RECRUITMENT) M/F
Base: Kumba (south west region)
Number of positions : 1
Contract duration: Until 31st March 2025
start date: ASAP
supervised by: Logistics Senior Officer
Location : Kumba
Objective 1 : Facilities and Communications Management
Activities :
 Ensure the installation and maintenance of functional office space(s) and guesthouse
facilities are in an adequate living condition and in accordance with AAH minimum
standards and brand identity. Ensure the application of defined safety and security
measures and make inspection visits to assess the rehabilitation needs of facilities.
 Ensure that facilities have an appropriate IT and Communication infrastructure and
equipment to sustain AAH software platforms and in line with policies and procedures.
 Ensure the proper operation, use, maintenance and management of communication
equipment (radio, HF, VHF, RBGAN, computers, etc.).
 Pay daily visits to installations, updating regularly the line manager on possible anomalies
or problems.
 Assess the need for reparation and follow-up the small reparations by following the
instructions given by the line manager and updating him regularly on the status.
 Verify that the security norms are strictly followed in the premises (presence of
extinguisher, electronic installations correctly grounded).
Objective 2 : Fleet management
Activities :
 Plan and supervise the preventive maintenance of all the vehicles and motor bikes of the
project in compliance with AAH rules.
 Ensure that a fleet of vehicles and motor bikes that meets the needs of the Project in
terms of size and quality are maintained; propose any necessary changes to the line
manager.
 Oversee the effective management and correct completion of the logbooks.
 Organize transport (daily movement of vehicles and bikes), in conjunction with the line
manager, taking into account the needs of the Programs and security considerations.
 Plan movements, tracking individual trips, and ensuring implementation of security
measures.
 Monitor the fuel consumption of vehicles, bikes and mechanical equipment (generators),
and the use of spare parts.

 Ensure the security of persons and goods during transportation.
 Train the drivers on how to drive safely and correctly and on the standard checks.
Objective 3 : Warehouse and stock management
 Oversee the storage, packing and management of stocks (logistics materials, stationery,
drugs and supplies, WASH material, and maintenance products), and provide the
Program teams with support for the pharmacy (or pharmacies).
 Comply with the storage rules for stored products (food, hazardous substances, etc.).
 Keep updated all stock cards and inform your line manager on their status (shortfalls, over-
stocking, expiry dates), in order to avoid drug stock out, and ensure efficient management
of the medical store
 Record all stock movement: in and out;
 Determine at any moment the theoretical level of stocks
 Ensure follow–up on the consumption of different mobile clinic and facilities supported
by AAH; determine losses (differences between theoretical stock and actual stock)
 Ensure storage arrangement system according to the route of administration and in
alphabetical order (oral drugs, injectable drugs, infusion fluids, drugs for external use and
antiseptics, disinfectants)
 Control the pharmacy store / warehouse, ensure limited access to authorized personnel,
and ensure doors are very well secured.
 Ensures good storage conditions of all medical items in the pharmacy.
 In case you have received goods ( Cold Chain), Monitor the temperature in the and ensure
that products requiring cold chain are suitably stored and transports received and
prepared appropriately according to AAH Supply and Cold Chain protocols
 Ensure cleanliness of premises (stock pharmacy)
 Perform daily consumption checks and update stock cards.
 Take a physical inventory of all AAH pharmacy, stocks and goods, in accordance with the
frequency defined with the line manager.
 Regularly evaluate the storage areas used compared with the needs of the Project
(volume, security, etc.); propose possible adaptations to the line manager.
Objective 4: Asset Management
 Support on the purchase, use and maintenance of IT assets, office and project equipment
and communication tools, while ensuring that all base assets registered in LINK are
documented, issued with unique AAH asset numbers, tagged and logged according to
asset management policies and procedures.
 Support the line manager on reporting asset list at the end of project and oversee asset
rollover according to defined destination with the Programs department.
 Oversee regular fixed assets check on a quarterly basis.
Objective 5: Manage and follow-up orders
 Collect all the orders related to logistics coming from all the different departments in the
field.
 Follow-up the orders, according to the procedures in place.
 Assist in local purchases according to AAH procurement procedures.
 Ensure the conditions of receipt of the incoming cargo or materials, together with the
organization and packaging of material before its shipment.
Objective 6 : Reporting.

As instructed by the line manager, prepare activity reports, in line with the frequencies
established for the Mission (each week and month), and ensure that statistical data is
regularly updated.
DIPLOMAS/STUDIES/EXPERIENCE
Bachelor degree in Logistics, supply chain or related field
with 03 years’ experience in a similar role in an INGO in an emergency context
1 year experience in the management pharmacy store.
Mastery of management and IT tools (Word, Excel, Link…)
REQUIRED SKILLS :
- Ability to manage a team, good communication skills, negotiating and organizational skills,
flexibility, resourcefulness, ability to work in a multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural
environment, pro-active attitude, open-mindedness, Good interpersonal skills, Good
expression skills (oral and written)
