For our Cameroon Country Office, we are looking for a dynamic and committed Digital Media Professional Intern who will support the WWF Communication Department.
Reports to: Communications Coordinator, WWF Cameroon
Location: Yaounde, Cameroon
Duration: Six (06) months, renewable
Mission of the Department:
WWF Cameroon works toward a well-managed, biodiverse, and resilient landscape that supports healthy, viable populations of wild species and contributes to the well-being of people in Cameroon and beyond. The mission of the Communication Department is to support WWF CCO’s vision and broad conservation goals by increasing awareness and understanding of the importance of conservation in Cameroon. The department aims to strengthen WWF’s visibility, profile, image, and credibility among diverse target audiences through various activities. This includes producing compelling communication materials such as stories, on-the-ground reports, background information, and statements about WWF’s policies, fieldwork, results, achievements, and successes.
Major functions:
As Digital Media Professional Intern, you will work with our communications team on social media, web, and other digital content. You will be part of a dynamic team of communicators all fighting to preserve our planet.
Major duties:
The intern will support the communications as follow:

Contribute to create, manage and schedule social media content (text, images, video, and graphics) across multiple platforms (e.g., LinkedIn, Instagram, X, YouTube).
•
Assist in publishing, updating, maintaining website content.
•
Contribute to ensure accuracy, SEO (Search Engine Optimisation) best practices.
•
Assist in identifying opportunities for audience growth and engagement.
•
Co-manage the editorial calendar to meet publishing deadlines.
•
Contribute to growing subscribers to expand reach and impact.

Identify issues and opportunities in social media content, report to appropriate parties.
•
Assist in managing our internal digital tools and platforms (intranet, photo bank, info mailbox, presentation templates)
•
Support monitoring and perform analysis of digital performance, compiling insights and key metrics to track engagement and audience growth. Provide data-driven recommendations and regular reports to optimize reach and impact across digital channels.
•
Support the creation of multimedia content, such as videos, podcasts, and infographics.
Profile:
Required Qualifications and Experience
•
Bachelor’s degree in communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or a related field.
•
A minimum of 1 year of experience in digital communications, with proven experience in social media management, content creation, and website publishing.
Required Skills and Competencies
•
Proficiency in social media management, including experience with tools like Sprout Social or similar, audience engagement strategies, and data-driven optimization to enhance reach and impact.
•
Website and SEO expertise, with experience managing content through CMS (Content Management System) platforms like WordPress, ensuring SEO best practices, and using Google Analytics 4 to track and optimize performance.
•
Knowledge about social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube

Working Relationships:
Internal – Close working relationships CCO Communication Coordinator and the entire WWF CCO Communication Team.
External – Interacts with supporters and social media influencers.
