EVIHDAF is an international research and evaluation organization headquartered in Yaoundé, Cameroon, which serves the West and Central Africa region. It provides services in Research, Evaluation & Learning; Data, Analytics & Information Systems; and Social & Behavior Change Strategies. Its practice areas include Health and Health Systems, Nutrition and Food Security, and Agriculture and Livelihoods. We have a USAID-funded project office in Niamey, Niger, and a Data Unit satellite office in Parakou, Benin (www.evihdaf.com).
We are looking for a dynamic and motivated candidate to fill the position of Finance and Accounting Assistant. She/He will be responsible for supporting key finance and accounting functions of our operations in strict compliance with EVIHDAF policies and procedures and specific donor rules and regulations. Also strive to ensure efficient and accountable use of donor funds.
Key Responsibilities
1.Preparation of Subaward Financial Reports.
▪ Assist in producing subaward financial reports (SFR) monthly.
▪ Assist in allocating cross-cutting costs to various projects appropriately.
▪ Monitor timesheet entries to ensure that they are respecting various projects LOEs.
2. Accounts Payables
▪ Assist in timely processing of staff advances for travel and other activities.
▪ Assist in timely processing of activities participants’ mobile payments.
▪ Assist in Processing of supplier invoices within agreed timelines.
▪ Keep track of vendor invoices and report on same. Assist in timely processing and payment of stakeholder dues and update trackers as necessary.
3. Accounts Receivable ▪ Assists in collection and review of Field Expense Reports, ensuring the validity and accuracy of all submitted expenses.
▪ Assists in accurate posting of the advances liquidating expenses to QuickBooks.
4. Cash/Bank Management ▪ Ensure timely banking of any unspent amounts refunded by staff as well as any checks written in favor of the foundation for various transactions.
▪ Monitor and supervise petty cash transactions daily and do cash counts and reconciliations weekly.
5. Monthly Reporting activities
▪ Timely posting of all transactions as well as ensuring consistency, accuracy, and completeness of such transactions.
▪ File all supporting details by month in One Drive.
▪ Ensure field offices meet all reporting deadlines for Quick Books end of the month Reports.
6. Other Responsibilities
▪ Very strong and operational knowledge of QUICKBOOKS.
▪ Good knowledge of excel, word and PowerPoint.
▪ Strong ability to scan and upload accounting vouchers to OneDrive.
▪ Ensure proper filing of physical vouchers.
▪ Support the Audit/Compliance Review Exercise.
▪ Review adequacy of supporting documentation for all documentation forwarded for payment.
▪ Review of all Mobile payments to ensure completeness and accuracy.
▪ Other work-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
▪ Bachelor’s degree in finance; Accounting; logistics and procurement or related field, or equivalent.
▪ Minimum 3 years of relevant Finance and Accounting experience required, preferably related to project Areas.
▪ Working Knowledge of French.
▪ Proficiency in English.
