Background
Reach Out Cameroon is a Non-Governmental Organization created in 1996 and obtained its legal
status in the year 2000 and authorization as a National NGO with MINAT in 2024. The
organisation supports underprivileged groups especially youth and women through a
community-centered approach and advocacy through three major pillars: Health, Human Rights
and Governance; and Economic security
The health department is committed to advancing health outcomes and promoting equity in
healthcare delivery throughout Cameroon. Established in response to critical health disparities
faced by underserved populations, ROC has been at the forefront of community-based health
interventions for twenty-eight years.
Reach Out Cameroon (ROC) with funding from TAKEDA Pharmaceutical Company Limited will
from January 2025 to December 2028 be implementing the project, “Increasing access to quality
sexual and reproductive health including menstrual hygiene and psychosocial support services
for extremely hard-to-reach and conflict-affected communities in Cameroon, Nigeria, and DR
Congo.” The project goal is to provide quality SRHR services including family planning, ANC,
delivery, menstrual hygiene, and psychosocial services in conflict-affected communities in the
Northwest and Southwest regions of Cameroon, North-Eastern Nigeria, and South Kivu in Eastern

DRC which have all been in protracted conflicts. Over four years, Reach Out Cameroon, supported
by its partners will increase access to quality SRHR services, including menstrual hygiene and
psychosocial support, for women and girls in 270 conflict-affected communities/health facilities
of Cameroon, Nigeria, and DR Congo by 40%. Close to 2 million conflict-affected people in hard-
to-reach areas, especially pregnant women, newborns, children above 5, and adolescents will
gain increased health outcomes. Community resilience and care-seeking behaviour will be
improved through 540 trained community health workers and 270 peer educators using pre-
recorded, modifiable sensitization audiovisual messages in local languages. This project is
implemented in partnership with HERWA Community Development Initiative in North-Eastern
Nigeria, and FOPAC SK in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
Reach Out Cameroon (ROC) seeks the services an Administrative Assistant to support the project
team in Cameroon
Key Functions:
• Assist the Chief of Party with secretarial duties in the administration and management of
the project
• Receive, organize and disseminate incoming and outgoing correspondences
• Schedule and monitor project meetings
• Facilitate the implementation of the project communication plan.
• Review and edit relevant project documents.
• Proofreading all official documents to make sure they are consistent in content, format;
and correct grammatical and typing errors.
• Compilation and filling of project documents.
• Develop and manage the document management plan of the project.
• Provide documentation support in procurement process.
• Maintain a proper filing and archiving system for the project
Required Qualification
• Bachelor’s degree in office administration, secretariat duty or other related fields
• 2+ years’ experience in a similar role in the NGO sector
Demonstrated behaviours needed by the post-holder to successfully perform the role.
• Health-related background and familiar with terms used in health project-related reports
and documents.
• Have a good mastery of administrative correspondence.
• Ability to use general office equipment such photocopiers, printers, scanners etc
• Time management, planning and organization skills.

• Fluency in written and spoken English and French.
• High awareness of the need to respect deadlines as regards project deliverables.
• Time management and punctuality
Skills Specific to the post needed to put knowledge into practice.
• Good communication and ICT skills (Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and Outlook
required, email, Internet)
