The National Episcopal Conference of Cameroon (NECC) is the Head Quarter of the Catholic Church in Cameroon, where the promotion of human dignity is at the center of the concerns of the Sustainable Development Goals. NECC's development work in Cameroon is accomplished through, access to quality education, health, promoting commitment of the faithful for the reduction of inequalities and empowerment of vulnerable groups.


TERMS OF REFERENCE
JOB Summary
Under the direct supervision of the Bursar, the Accountant main tasks will be to:
-Carry out budget monitoring the different departments attached to the General Secretary;
-Compile supporting documents (settlement/receipt file) to support the processing of financial transactions;
-Record accounting transactions in accordance with OHADA rules;
-Produce monthly monitoring statements (budget monitoring, cash flow monitoring); Ensure the integrity of accounting information through reviews to address issues of compliance and quality of operations and financial reporting;
-Reconcile daily, monthly and annual transactions;
Perform periodic financial analyses to detect and resolve problems;
-Review and analyze supporting documentation for financial transactions to ensure that all required documents are accurate and complete;
-Record financial transactions following appropriate authorizations;
-Review various accounts to detect irregularities;
-Be a key point of contact for other departments;
-Prepare various financial reports, periodic and ad hoc, as required, and perform variance analyses to facilitate decision-making and appropriate management of financial resources;
-Perform assigned treasury tasks (cash payment/collection, cash forecasting, etc.), as long as segregation of duties is ensured;
Produce a monthly balance of operation;
-Prepare cash flow reconciliation statements;
-Review partners' financial reports for accuracy, completeness and compliance with CENC policy requirements;
-Ensure that all expenditure is eligible in accordance with CENC requirements; Carry out administrative and accounting management operations (cash flow monitoring, invoicing, archiving of accounting documents, inputting of reports, etc.); Produce summary accounting documents;
-Carrying out transactions with banks and the administration;
-Preparing payroll with the HR department;
-Scanning and filing all accounting documents;
-Carry out any other tasks assigned by line management;

QUALIFICATIONS MINIMUM
Education and Experience
Minimum of Master degree in accounting, business management; At least four years' experience in a similar position would be an asset; Good knowledge of the OHADA system;
Very good computer skills: Word - Excel etc;
Proficiency in SAARI accounting software required;

Language requirements / desired: Must be bilingual with a working knowledge of English and French.

Internal: General Secretariat - Project Managers - Head of Department
External: Partners - Heads of partner organisations
